2 Essentials for New Year’s Resolution Success

As another year draws to a close, I am carving out time to reflect on the past year, set intentions for the coming year, and choose a word or words as my focus for 2017.

New Year’s resolutions are a cool concept, but most people lose steam a couple weeks in. I’ve found there are two constants that, before I even take any concrete steps, must be in place to keep my intentions rolling along.

Where I Am Now + My Feature in Edible Allegheny

Hi, all!

It’s been pleasantly productive over here with an abundance of fulfilling work being done, but oh how I’ve missed spending time on this blog. I haven’t even written about my word of the year/yearly focus as I did with last years “soften,” which was only the first of three words that fostered my personal evolution in 2015.

Thoughts on Living My Purpose

Hello, friends!

I’m wrapped in a robe and snuggled up with the furbaby today. Winter finally has a firm grasp on us. I can’t say I’m exactly thrilled. I love glistening snowscapes and crisp morning walks, but these negative temperatures are huge energy-robbers for chronic fatigue. So, mixed feelings. It’s a great opportunity for readers to get to know the author of a blog and on the flip side it’s a fun way for the author to share what’s been lighting up their world lately. Since October was a month full of even more gratitude than usual, I figure there’s no time like the present. So, without further ado, here are my October favorites!

Note: This is not a sponsored post, but simply a sharing of my very favorite things of this month. If I ever feature a sponsored product, it will be clearly stated. Enjoy! Continue reading

Grand Opening Party at Garden of Mind

Much in my typical “mimic the seasons” fashion, last winter started out very dark for me. I was mourning another period of relapsed health and in many areas of my life I felt that I was grasping to hold things together as they teased me with disintegration. And how timely it was that I was reading Pema Chodron’s classic When Things Fall Apart!

It was only when I had moved through the “feeling sorry for myself ” and “letting fear guide me” stages that the beauty of synchronicity entered my life — an unfolding that was catalyzed by my 100 days of meditation self-challenge and continues to this day. Among the many synchronicities I’ve experienced since then was one that not only led me to new business opportunities but also new camaraderies. Continue reading
