This has got to be one of my all-time favorite boxes that I’ve received from Petit Vour‘s monthly subscription box service. This month, they partnered up with Thoughtfully Mag choosing 4 incredible beauty items. In less than a day, I had already used and fell in love with every single one. Major swooning over here. Aila 5-free nail lacquer in Doolish. This warm coral polish is not a color I’d normally choose for myself, but I love it. It looked so beautiful in the bottle, and I love orange polish, but it looked too…uh…preppy?, sophisticated?, too something for my usual tastes. After I put it on, I realized how it complements a lot of my looks. It applied without being neither clumpy nor runny and dried really quickly. It was very chip-resistant, too. I wore it during 3 days of camping, hiking, swimming, and general outdoorsy stuff — no, I didn’t polish them for the trip; I didn’t have a chance to take it off before we left! — and it just started chipping when I got home. I have just a few nail polish brands that I am really nuts over, and I can tell you right now that this has made it on the list.
Luxe de Mer Skincare gentle cleanser. Of course I love this cleanser because it’s so similar to the S.W. Basics one I received in a previous box which happens to be one of my favorite cleansers ever. In this one, rosewater, glycerine, and a mix of beautiful essential oils work to cleanse, balance, and nourish the skin.
Nubian Heritage mango butter. This reminds me of my beloved Rosemira Organics body butter in all the best ways. It smells divine and makes my skin feel so hydrated and soft. The tropical scent would be an awesome pick me up when the weather turns colder, too. (And I hate myself a little for already thinking about cold weather survival. ugh!)
Routine de-odor cream in Sexy Sadie. I was destined to like this because of the name (major Beatles fan here). But it goes beyond the killer name. The staying power rivals that of my favorite deodorant and the smell is so, well, sexy sadie. From the site: “The perfect balance of sexy, sweet, earthy, and spicy. Notes of ylang ylang, patchouli, sweet orange, cinnamon, and vanilla.” The scent lasts forever (like at least 24 hours forever) and is really perfume-like. I would go so far as to say that when I wear this, I don’t wear anything else scented unless it complements this one. It’s strong, which may not be your thing, but it is absolutely luscious. Love!
My favorites of this month were definitely Aila and Routine but the other two are awesome, too. Now to get J off of his extreme patchouli hatred, so that I can wear Sexy Sadie all the time without bothering him — and I add “without bothering him” cause obvi I’m wearing this stuff nonstop!
